Avora
Making sensitive skin feel special
THE STORY
Why do sensitive skin products always look like they belong in a pharmacy? That's the question that sparked our exploration into how self-care could feel more... well, caring. We set out to create a brand concept that would turn sensitive skin from a problem to solve into something to celebrate, bringing a bit of luxury to those who usually have to stick to the clinical stuff.
THE CHALLENGE
How do you make gentle feel gorgeous? Our design exploration needed to create something that would look at home in Space NK while being kind to sensitive skin. The trick was finding that sweet spot between luxury and simplicity – because often the most indulgent thing you can do is keep things clean and clear.
OUR APPROACH
We started with the name Avora – a little nod to aloe vera, everyone's favourite gentle giant of skincare. Then we went minimal, but make it luxe. Different shades of green create a nature-inspired palette that feels both soothing and sophisticated.
The real magic happens in the details: foiled and embossed lettering on the soap bars, with an 'o' that looks like the most elegant soap bubble you've ever seen. Because who says sensitive skin can't have nice things?
THE IMPACT
This design concept shows how functional products could be transformed into objects of desire. By elevating gentle skincare to luxury status, we explored how design could help redefine self-care for those who usually have to prioritise function over form. Sometimes the kindest thing design can do is make people feel special.
